Haven't heard of him? Neither had we, until we saw two of the best videos on Barack Obama ever.
This pushy reporter picked the wrong person to interrogate. There are good people out there who would have easily lost their cool but Derrick just rolls with the punches:

I am skeptical about the validity of this video. If the person that filmed this was a cynic and targeting him and Obama, why would they post this video to youtube?
So, either, the cynic had a change of heart after speaking to Derek.
Or, Derek understands the power of viral marketing in this grass roots, ground up campaign, and created this himself.
Like you mentioned, you don't know him.
Natasha, or it could be that it really was a very knowledgeable person who get a rare opportunity top present himself in a man on the street interview. The second video posted really addresses the issue you raised. I really appreciated his comments and was quite impressed with his grasp of the issues.
